About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Unix & Cloud Data Support Engineer to join the application development team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Unix system administration, a solid understanding of cloud-based data services (especially AWS), and hands-on experience with ETL pipelines and production support.
This role plays a key part in ensuring reliable ingestion, transformation and delivery of data from multiple global sources, supporting production environments, and collaborating with international teams to maintain a critical financial data platform .
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Unix/Linux-based environments hosting data processing and integration services.
- Operate and maintain ETL pipelines, integrating data from multiple systems into centralized databases, data warehouses, or data lakes.
- Perform log analysis, debugging, and root cause investigations in real-time production systems.
- Support services hosted in AWS, including resource, process, and file management.
- Utilize SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Collaborate with global development and support teams across AMERS and Europe, particularly during peak Europe business hours.
- Contribute to final testing and stabilization phases of a multi-year development effort preparing for full production release.
Required Skills
- 4–6 years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration or production support.
- Practical knowledge of Unix commands (file manipulation, process management, text processing, system monitoring).
- Ability to efficiently navigate Linux environments, manage files/directories, and perform operations from the command line.
- Experience with SQL and SQL query writing.
- Strong log analysis , root cause analysis , and debugging skills.
- Understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline architectures.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud environments (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English (spoken and written).
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to financial data pipelines or market data platforms
- Background in L2 application support in a regulated, high-availability environment
